Mullauna College has participated in 4 weeks of community volunteering through our school volunteering program. Sessions ranged from tree planting in Royal Park, weeding and clearing at Blackburn Lake Sanctuary and marine monitoring at Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary, through our Sea Search program.
We are currently developing our 2010 School Volunteering program. If your school is interested in participating in an environmental focused school volunteering program, please contact Rachel Laurie on 03 8627 4890 or email greenconnections@peopleandparks.org |

The School volunteering program encompasses a mixture of volunteer work and environmental education. The students from Mullauna College have learnt about wetlands and planting ecosystems at Royal Park, bush food and flora and fauna recognition at Blackburn Lake Sanctuary and intertidal marine life identification at Ricketts Point. An important part of the school volunteering program is to educate students so that they can then pass this knowledge on to others.
