This year is a very exciting year for the Green Connections program. After the success of different program formats such as the 6 week school volunteer program trialled in 2009, we are expanding these programs in 2010 to include more groups and locations.
In response to your requests, this year also sees the creation of opportunities for all our supporters to be involved through the introduction of Community and Family Volunteering days. |

June was a busy month for Green Connections with four corporate volunteering days taking place. GE Money held their Annual Volunteer Day with the Glenroy branch working at Brimbank Park and the Head Office working at Yarra Bend Park. These combined events had a great impact on both these parks. Novartis volunteers from around Australia worked hard alongside the dedicated Friends of Westgate Park on planting the area beside the bridge at Westgate Park. Special mention to the “Mulch Movers” for their supreme effort! AXA continued their ongoing support of the People & Parks Foundations work through their volunteer effort at Royal Park. |

The Freckled Duck is one of Australia's rarest waterfowl species. The captive birds will allow us to interpret the importance of species diversity, threatened species recovery programs and the value of conserving wetland habitats.
