The significant landscape values of Brimbank Park provide the perfect setting for visitors to enjoy a range of complementary recreational activities. The 329 hectare Park, which is located on the Maribyrnong River in Keilor, features exposed plains grasslands with sheltered riverside woodland, which offers attractive natural settings for visitors. The development of Brimbank Community Playspace will: • Provide a place for children, families, special needs groups and other community segments to recreate in an open setting, • Encourage children and their communities to reconnect with nature, • Promote the environment and the need for environmental protection, • Promote volunteering and encourage community participation, • Promote partnerships with state and local government agencies, local businesses, philanthropic organisations and other relevant stakeholders, • Deliver benefits which extend beyond the life of the project, • Promote sustainability through materials used and planting as illustrated in the design drawing |
