St George Bank volunteers

Re-development works continue at Caitlin’s Retreat, with the expectation of opening the centre to special needs families in the first half of this year.

Our site manager has been busy coordinating the redevelopment works and working in collaboration with many generous businesses who have donated money, time and goods to our Eltham based retreat centre.

The house itself has undergone significant works which include; substantial plumbing and electrical upgrades, external and internal painting, carpet laying, considerable renovations necessary in making the house all ability friendly and the establishment of a manager’s residence.

Rhino Tanks installationBeyond the house has seen significant change also with the installation of a 154,000 litre rain water tank, vegetable garden establishment and tree pruning. Essential fire preparation has also taken place, with the installation of water pumps, roof sprinklers, fire hoses and an immense garden clean up necessary in creating a sizeable fire break.
