Caitlin’s Retreat has been a constant hub of activity since the beginning of the year; development works continue, volunteer numbers increase and we have had many special needs families come and stay, with more booked in for future months. Families have been big and small, but for all the feeling is unanimous, this truly is a special place, for special families. |

More and more families are looking to access Caitlin's Retreat – particularly over the holiday season. “This is an amazing facility and what you are doing to assist families who need a break is incredible” said one mum of a child with Spina bifida, from a small township near Kinglake, who is still waiting for their home to be rebuilt after the Black Saturday fires. |

Our big news this month is that we have had two families on trial visits to provide us with invaluable feedback. Getting this feedback is all important to ensure we are achieving our aims of providing an experience in nature, using its therapeutic benefits to assist families with special needs as well as just being a great place for some time out. |

We are very pleased to announce that Interchange Victoria has agreed to partner us at Caitlin's Retreat to refer their clients for visits. Jetha Devapura and his area Managers have made a significant contribution already by consulting with us about the needs of visitors and how we can make their stay at Caitlin's Retreat a true ‘ecotherapy’ experience benefiting special needs visitors as well as their siblings and carers.

Our partners at Variety, the Children’s Charity will provide funding for an all abilities playground for visitors to Caitlin's Retreat! Due to be built later in the year, this significant gift will be a terrific asset for the facility and will incorporate state of the art play equipment for all children! |
